Published author Helen JR Bruce combines her love of folklore and writing to offer inspiring and engaging workshops structured around the retelling and re-invention of folklore. Participants will work both collaboratively and alone, building their individual voice and the vibrancy of their writing. Expect humour, the subversion of well known stories, female empowerment and an over-whelming feeling of accomplishment. This workshop is fully flexible and can be adapted to suit various age groups and abilities. Helen trained and a secondary school teacher of English and has a Masters in Creative Writing from Bath Spa University. 

Workshops in Storytelling techniques have wide ranging applications, from young people gaining confidence to corporate conferences training employees in how to own a stage and meeting room with strong presence, engaging voice work and body language.

Themed to the season, a particular festival or aspect of folklore, this workshop combines conversation and ceremony with music. The gathered group explore the theme of the journey together, gathering a patchwork of experience and story, which is them woven into a totally unique drumming journey. Encountering story in this way, through visualisation and rhythm, allows for it to be encountered in a very real and physical way. Drums and gentle tuition in drumming can be included
