Oak is a natural born Storyteller, and has been expertly performing for over a decade, perfecting her art in weaving together different narratives, improvisation and involving all audiences with her natural charm and humor. Her enthusiasm and love of Folklore shines through her performances, enthralling their' attention, and drawing them into her world.
By day she is a Secondary School teacher, using her skills in the classroom and training other staff in incorporating Storytelling into their teaching.
Helen is inspired by the rich folkloric heritage of the land and champions storytelling as a way to connect with the sacred nature of landscape. Performing for over a decade at festivals, events and shows, she brings an infective humour to her high- energy, interactive tellings.
She specializes in blending drumming and audience participation into traditional folk tales, uncovering modern day relevance in these ancient stories.
As well as being an oral storyteller, Helen is also a published author, folklorist and the Editor of Witch Magazine.
